Ongoing Investigations

ADNI data is made available to researchers around the world. As such, there are many active research projects accessing and applying the shared ADNI data. To further encourage Alzheimer’s disease research collaboration, and to help prevent duplicate efforts, the list below shows the specific research focus of the active ADNI investigations. This information is requested annually as a requirement for data access.

Principal Investigator
Principal Investigator's Name: Jeffrey Burns
Institution: University of Kansas School of Medicine
Department: Neurology
Country: United States of America
Proposed Analysis: Our group is interested in predictors of healthy brain aging and modifiers of AD progression. Initially, we are interested in assessing the relationship between several factors including BMI and diabetes with cross-sectional and longitudinal estimates of whole brain and hippocampal atrophy.
Additional Investigators
Investigator's Name: Rodrigo Perea
Proposed Analysis: Will assess the role of lifestyle factors on brain aging measures and AD progression. Will also assess the role of genetic factors on brain aging and AD progression.

Investigator's Name: Eric Vidoni
Proposed Analysis: Will assess lifestyle factors and their role in brain aging and AD progression.
