ADNI data is made available to researchers around the world. As such, there are many active research projects accessing and applying the shared ADNI data. To further encourage Alzheimer’s disease research collaboration, and to help prevent duplicate efforts, the list below shows the specific research focus of the active ADNI investigations. This information is requested annually as a requirement for data access.

| Proposed Analysis: | We, myself and a graduate student in our graduate program in computational Sciences, propose to implement a multifaceted statistical analysis on the diverse parts of the ADNI data. First, we will study the decline in vital signs such as blood pressure, body temperature, and cognitive ability while adjusting for potentially important demographic characteristics such as age, race and education others via longitudinal modeling approaches. Second, we will carry out both a genetic association study that looks to replicate results for previously identified candidate genes as well as a genome-wide association study that incorporates gene-gene interactions. Moreover, we will use the genetic data as a foundation of simulations that aim to investigate the performance of competing genetic association statistical methods that account for hidden relatedness and population structure. |
