Ongoing Investigations

ADNI data is made available to researchers around the world. As such, there are many active research projects accessing and applying the shared ADNI data. To further encourage Alzheimer’s disease research collaboration, and to help prevent duplicate efforts, the list below shows the specific research focus of the active ADNI investigations. This information is requested annually as a requirement for data access.

Principal Investigator's Name: Jonathan Fry
Institution: The Pennsylvania State University
Department: Electrical Engineering
Country:
Proposed Analysis: I wish to use MRI and CT data to predict AD and MCI cases, based on the use of 3D wavelet decomposition. I will build upon my lab group's previous research in brain atlas registration and feature selection. This work will focus on attempting to find desirable features that exhibit both sensitivity and specificity towards Alzheimer's detection.
Additional Investigators
Investigator's Name: Yanxi Liu
Proposed Analysis: Using a previously developed atlas registration pipeline and a feature selection pipeline, we wish to explore the feature space of symmetry metrics and statistical metrics on the deformation field of individual brains for the purpose of predicting MCI and AD.
