Ongoing Investigations

ADNI data is made available to researchers around the world. As such, there are many active research projects accessing and applying the shared ADNI data. To further encourage Alzheimer’s disease research collaboration, and to help prevent duplicate efforts, the list below shows the specific research focus of the active ADNI investigations. This information is requested annually as a requirement for data access.

Proposed Analysis: I would like to analyze the cognitive data from ADNI-1, ADNI-GO and ADNI-2 to potentially publish descriptive data on performance for healthy controls, MCI and AD (by age, and possibly education, if statistically significant). If the databases are separate, I would also like access to those that include ApoE type, clinical laboratory tests, MRI clinical read, medications, medical history and neurological exam. I have no intention to investigate the relationships between any of these variables and cognitive performance, but rather, would like to be able to use it to describe the groups in a summary fashion (e.g., 400 normal controls, 2 had an incidental finding on MRI, all had a normal neuro exam, ApoE breakdown was similar to general population, 10% were taking an antidepressant, etc.).
