Ongoing Investigations

ADNI data is made available to researchers around the world. As such, there are many active research projects accessing and applying the shared ADNI data. To further encourage Alzheimer’s disease research collaboration, and to help prevent duplicate efforts, the list below shows the specific research focus of the active ADNI investigations. This information is requested annually as a requirement for data access.

Principal Investigator
Principal Investigator's Name: Jie Shen
Institution: UC,Irvine
Department: Statistics
Country:
Proposed Analysis: The goal of the study is to identify SNPs correlated with the Alzheimer's disease. We plan to develop Bayesian hierarchical models with spatial priors to incorporate dependence among SNPs. In this way, we are able to borrow strength from nearby markers, which can lead to an improvement in statistical power.
Additional Investigators
Investigator's Name: Hal Stern
Proposed Analysis: I,Jie Shen, am working under the supervision of professor Hal Stern on the project I described before.

Investigator's Name: Fabio Macciardi
Proposed Analysis: Professor Macciardi, as an expert in genetics, is our collaborator working on the project I described before.
